Board Care

With proper care and conditioning, your cutting board will look great and will last for years.

HAND WASH ONLY – never submerge your cutting board in water or place in dishwasher. Simply hand wash with hot soapy water. Wipe the cutting board with clean cloth. Store in a dry area.

DISINFECT & DEODORIZE – Spray your cutting board with white vinegar. Let vinegar set for a few minutes and wipe off with a damp cloth.  White vinegar is an excellent disinfectant for E. coli, Salmonella and other household bacteria.

CONDITION YOUR BOARD – We recommend conditioning your cutting board frequently.  Apply a generous layer of food-grade oil or oil and beeswax combination to entire board.   Allow conditioner to soak in, best if overnight, and buff with clean cloth. Keeping your board well-conditioned is an important step that keeps the board looking great and helps repel food particles and liquids as well as avoid staining, warping or cracking.

REFURBISHING – Knife marks will accumulate over time on a well-used cutting board, causing the board to feel rough. To refurbish your board, sand cutting board using a 320-grit sandpaper until surface is smooth.  Once sanding is complete, wash and dry cutting board.   Allow cutting board to dry and generously re-apply conditioner.
